Notes from November 13, 2019 Meeting
Dear Everybody,
We had a very cordial gathering today, and covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time.
Lupe Encinas reported that The AZ Children’s Business Fair in Arcadia this past weekend was highly successful. Ulysses and bearded dragon sidekick Spike were assisted by brother Jaden, who helped with sales and marketing. Ulysses stated that eight people were interested in having a party with Lizards for Kids and More, and Jaden sold five stickers. There was also a tee-shirt sale. The company’s tee-shirts make great Christmas gifts, and can be ordered through the Facebook page.
Ami Fraus thanked Melinda for referring a very good house cleaner to her.
Brooke Schiavone said that the Santa Claus scheduled to be at the store December 7 is the “real deal,” with a full beard. He will present the perfect alternative to a mall Santa and a huge line for your kids or grandkids.
Lupe Encinas is still trying to round up age appropriate gifts for kids. She said that older boys (and even some girls) like board games, basketballs, and card games. Lupe and Brooke specifically recommended Monopoly Deal, Battleship, Tenzi, and Slapzi.
A general discussion was held about the need for more people trained in the trades. We also touched on the recent bankruptcy of Dean Foods (dairy products) is symptomatic of struggles being experienced by food producers in the US.
Lupe and Audrey Hickman caught us up on Lupe’s impending purchase of a property in historic Glendale, very near Virginia’s House and Natalie Stahl.
Tomorrow, November 14, is Ami’s birthday. Happy birthday to Ami!
Have a great rest of the week!
